Idle factories were back in business. With the war, American factories had something to make, tanks, guns, and ammunition. Mass production was taken to an all new level. Rosie the Riveter was a cultural icon for the United States representing American women. "We can do it" is propaganda for making the women work in the factories, but it was not too tough of labor.
